Mardi Gras is celebrated all around the world, not just in New Orleans. But in this U.S., that’s the city that celebrates this holiday period the most. But around the world, it’s also celebrated in Canada, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands.
Another name for Mardi Gras is Carnival. These celebrations take place around Ash Wednesday and the period of Lent. Most often, the three days before Ash Wednesday are considered Mardi Gras, but sometimes those celebrations can go on for more days than that.
